Parents and guardians are critical in helping students access and persist in college.  Whether or not a parent or guardian has attended college, their participation in the college process, from researching college choices, to the application, to graduation, is valuable.  The parents’ understanding of college enrollment procedures, academic supports, and college environment is almost as important as the students’. Far too often parents are undergoing a crash course in college enrollment, which sometimes results in less than desirable outcomes.  Parents should not engage in “on the job training” in trying to provide the best education and career opportunities for their child.  Working with Options Without Walls, LLC can help parents develop a proactive strategic plan that takes into account the students, their interests, academic profile, schools of interest, cost of attendance, funding, as well as a blueprint for college persistence and graduation.
